Founded in 2014 by industrial designer and product developer Roy Gilsing, WannaWanga offers screen accurate lightsaber parts. Gilsing designs the parts after extensively studying photos, parts descriptions, and Replica Prop Forum (RPF) threads. The company creates “3D CAD models of various complete saber hilts using reverse engineering techniques or by simply measuring some of the authentic parts that I had bought on eBay or from other collectors.”
The WannaWanga store is named after “De wanna wanga”, the Huttese greeting Bib Fortuna uses to welcome C-3PO to Jabba’s Palace in the film Return of the Jedi (1983).
